Step-by-Step Process

Record your progress on Part 2 of the Preparation and Transition Worksheet. When needed, refer to data you recorded in Part 1 of the worksheet.

Audit your Centerpiece 5.6 database:

Install a Database Engine:

  • If using SQL Server 2005 Express, do nothing now.
  • If using SQL Server 2005 Standard, install it now.

Install the PortfolioCenter application.

Set up the PortfolioCenter database:

  • Login to the PortfolioCenter database
  • Select the default report profile
  • Validate PortfolioCenter data
  • Set up a position summary
  • Set up user IDs

  • Install client applications.
  • Login to the clients

If needed, set up Schwab interface to use enhanced file format:

  • Post all interface files
  • Notify Schwab Institutional
  • Set interface parameters
  • Begin reconciling to 5 decimal places
