Installation Instructions PortfolioCenter Single-User Standard Network
This configuration is typically set up as shown below:

Before Starting the Installation
| 1 | Make sure the operating system on the machine is supported by PortfolioCenter. See Operating Systems for a list of supported operating systems. |
| 2 | Temporarily disable any third-party anti-virus or firewall software. These applications could impact the time spent during the installation because some of them rely on your input for several steps. |
| 3 | Make sure PortfolioCenter is closed. |
Step 1. Set Up the Server
| 1.1 | On the server, login as a user with administrative rights. |
| 1.2 | Get the name of the server. (You'll need it when you log in to the workstation.)

| 1.3 | Insert the installation disk, and when the menu displays, click Install PortfolioCenter to start the installation. |
| 1.4 | Follow the instructions in the install wizard. When asked for the setup type, select Database Server. |
| 1.5 | When the installation is complete, open PortfolioCenter and login with the following (shown below):

| 16 | At this point, no serial numbers have been entered, so you are asked if you want to enter one. Click Yes. |
| 17 | Enter your serial number in the Serial # field at the bottom of the Licensing dialog, and then click Add.

| 18 | Repeat for all serial numbers you need to enter, and then click Close to enter PortfolioCenter. You should see a dataset with no portfolios. |
Step 2. Set Up the Workstation
| 2.1 | On the workstation, login as a user with administrative rights. |
| 2.2 | Insert the installation disk, and when the menu displays, click Install PortfolioCenter to start the installation. |
| 2.3 | Follow the instructions in the install wizard. When asked for the setup type, select Client Machine. |
| 2.4 | When the installation is complete, open PortfolioCenter and login with the following (shown below):
The Database Server and Database SQL fields are not applicable when you specify an application server. The workstation use the settings on the application server.
